    A homeless man was severely injured when he was hit in the head with a hammer and then robbed in Culver City on Wednesday, police said.     A Sunday night fire destroyed a three-story home in Venice under renovations and damaged a total of five houses, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. Around 10:44 p.m. on October 2, firefighters were alerted about the fire at 421 Carroll Canal, along the Venice Canals, which was later declared a major emergency blaze, according to LAFD "A total of five homes were damaged.
