Dodgers Place Jason Heyward On IL

Taylor Trammell oves to to the active roster

The Los Angeles Dodgers placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the injured list with lower back tightness and added outfielder Taylor Trammell to the active roster.

Trammell, 26, was claimed yesterday from Seattle after being designated for assignment on March 28, 2024. Last season, he hit .130 with three homers and 11 RBI in 22 games for Seattle and hit .268 with 21 homers for Triple-A Tacoma. He has played 116 Major League games over three seasons with Seattle, hitting a combined .168 with 15 homers and 39 RBI. He was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in 2016 as the 35th overall pick out of Mount Paran Christian high school.

Heyward, 34, was placed on the injured list for the first time this season, retroactive to March 30. In four games with the Dodgers this season, he was 3-for-14 with two RBI. The five-time Gold Glover is in his second season with the Dodgers after hitting .269 with 15 homers and 40 RBI in 2023. He has been in the Major Leagues 14 seasons with Atlanta (2010-14), St. Louis (2015), Chicago-NL (2016-22) and Los Angeles (2023-24) and has amassed 174 homers and 683 RBI in 1,707 career games. He was originally drafted by the Braves with the 14th pick in the 2007 First Year Players Draft out of Henry County High School.
