Culver City residents have until November 8 to vote for their candidates for the City Council and School Board as well as decide the fate of two local measures, including one dealing with new business tax rates.

The electorate will also have its say on the candidates for the Governor, U.S. Senator, County Board of Supervisors, state and federal offices and a multitude of state propositions.

Voting by can be done by mail or in person at the Early Voting Center in the Veteran's Memorial Building Auditorium, located at 4117 Overland Ave. On November 8, there will be close to a dozen polling sites in Culver City.

Following includes some notable local races on the ballot:

Culver City Council – 2 seats;

Candidates: Denice Renteria, Freddy Puza, Devin Yaeger, Khin Gyi, incumbent Alexander "Alex" Fisch and Dan O'Brien.

Board of Education – 3 seats;

Candidates: Howard Adelman, Marci Baun, Darrel Menthe, incumbent Summer McBride, Stephanie Loredo, Brian Guerrero, Triston Ezidore and Tracie Brown.

Measure BL – a measure which would increase Culver City's business license tax to either $1000 or 0.13-0.35% of gross receipts.

Measure VY – a measure which would lower the voting age requirement from 18 to 16 for City and School Board elections.

Election officials said all voters can return their ballots by mail (no postage necessary), or drop them off at drop box sites, including the following locations in Culver City:

Culver City Julian Dixon Library - 4975 Overland Avenue;

Culver Palms United Methodist Church – 4464 Sepulveda Blvd.;

Fox Hills Parkette - Green Valley Circle/Buckingham Pkwy.;

West Los Angeles College Library - 9000 Overland Avenue.
