After much debate and months of delay the Culver City City Council has approved the purchase of 2 armored vehicles by the Culver City Police Department.

Speaker Stephanie Benjamin spoke of the need to arrive quicky to protect children and police officers from an armed gunman. She pointed to the fact that school children were being outfitted with bulletproof Kevlar backpacks and questioned why we would be unwilling to provide out police officers with needed protection.
