Police Nab 2 Suspects in Armed Robbery

Culver City Police have nabbed two juveniles in connection with an armed robbery and attempted carjacking in Culver City over the weekend, officials said.

At 4:10 p.m. last Saturday, Culver City police received a call about an armed robbery in the Pier One Imports parking lot at 11140 Jefferson Blvd., near Sepulveda Boulevard.

Police officials said the victim was loading items into his car when he was approached by two boys. One allegedly pointed a handgun at his head and demanded the keys to his vehicle. After telling them he didn't have them, they demanded his credit card. "In fear for his life, the victim gave the suspects the card and they fled on foot," according the Culver Police press release.

While conducting an investigation in the area, police officers were notified that the credit card had been used at the Macy's at the Westfield. The officers drove to the mall and saw two juveniles walking in the parking lot, matching the description given by the victim, according to authorities. When they saw the officers, one of the boys allegedly discarded a loaded gun next to a parked vehicle. Officers also found the victim's credit card on one of the juveniles, police added.

The two boys were then taken into custody without any incident, police said. They were booked on charges of attempted carjacking and armed robbery. Their names were withheld because of their age.
