Rams and Chargers Need Wins to Stay in the Playoff Hunt

The Chargers and the Rams are falling fast in the NFL standings. The Chargers are in third place in their division with a record of 4-6 and the Rams are in third place in their division with a record 5-4. Both teams lost their games last week and they hope to rebound this weekend and Monday night. The Rams play the Chicago Bears Sunday at the Coliseum at 5:20 p.m. and the Chargers battle the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football at 5 p.m. in Mexico.

The USC and UCLA football teams are on the road this Saturday. UCLA plays a good Utah team at 5 p.m. and USC faces California at 8 p.m. UCLA is 4-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play and USC is 6-4 and 5-2. UCLA will travel to the Coliseum on November 23rd to battle the Trojans in their annual rivalry game.

At press time the UCLA and USC's basketball teams were 2-0. The Trojans play two home games against Nevada on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Tuesday against Pepperdine at 6 p.m. UCLA will play three home games starting with the contest against UNLV on Friday at 8 p.m. On Monday they face Southern Utah at 8 p.m. and Thursday they battle Hofstra at 8 p.m.

The USC and UCLA women's volleyball teams will be on the road when the travel north to face Stanford and California this weekend. USC is 14-10 overall and 8-6 in conference play and they face Stanford on Friday at 6 p.m. and California on Sunday at 12 p.m. UCLA is 13-10 overall and 8-6 in conference play. The Bruins play California on Friday at 2 p.m. and Stanford on Sunday at 12 p.m.

The Culver City girls' volleyball team is back in the State playoffs for the fifth consecutive year. They played a game on the road last Tuesday and if they win that game they advanced to the second round last Thursday. If they win that game on Thursday they will play on Saturday. Contact the high school to see if they advanced to Saturday's game.
