    It’s time for Culver City high school boys’ football. The Centaurs kick off their varsity football season on Friday, August 30, at 7 p.m. on the campus of Culver City high school inside the Jerry Chabola Football Stadium. Their opponent is San Jacinto high school, located 80 miles east of Culver City. Although the schools are far apart, they played each other twice in the last few years.   • Centaur winter sports teams are hoping to make the playoffs

    Culver City high school has five winter sports teams competing in the last weeks of the regular season but only one team is guaranteed to go to the big dance which is the CIF Southern Section playoffs. The boys' basketball team is currently in second place in the Bay league and that puts them in position to go to the playoffs.     Here we go again. Another big football game for the Culver City Centaurs. A few weeks ago, it was Home Coming and last week it was Senior Night. Now the Centaurs travel deep into the South Bay to face one of the best teams in the CIF Southern Section on Friday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. against Palos Verdes.
