Fans attending the Chargers annual Latino Heritage Game, presented by Verizon, will receive a commemorative Puro Chargers rally towel upon entering SoFi Stadium on Sunday.
In conjunction with the NFL's celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Los Angeles Chargers and presenting partner Verizon, will amplify the rich history, heritage and tradition of Latinos while honoring the community's positive impact on the game of football, our city and country during the team's divisional battle with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Sept. 29 at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:25 p.m. PT.
Aimed at immersing fans in the rich tapestry of Latino culture, activations prior to Sunday's kickoff include pregame performances by Chargers House Banda, America's first all-female Mariachi band Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles and Columbian-born resident Chargers' DJ/violinist/singer Esther Anaya – whose featured set will be solely based on her Latino roots.
Additionally, fans can visit an in-stadium car show exhibit featuring classic low-rider cars from Lady Lowrider Car Club, take advantage of the opportunity to open the Pepsi Vault where one lucky fan will win exclusive co-branded Puro Chargers and Pepsi merchandise, attend a special book signing by award-winning author Zoro and indulge in the Chargers Cookoff Fiesta in Thunder Alley – the Chargers ultimate tailgate experience – with special guest judges from Wolfgang Puck Catering, Estrella Media and iHeart Radio.
Fans are encouraged to remain in their seats at halftime for a special performance featuring internationally renowned singer/songwriter and four-time Regional Mexican Female Artist Ana Bárbara. Captivating the Latino world for over three decades, Bárbara incorporates a wide array of musical styles into her repertoire including mariachi, pop, Sinaloan Banda, grupero, and romantic ballads – all of which have led to her millions of record sales.
Chargers Spanish-language TV and radio partner Que Buena Los Angeles will also have a presence at the game, highlighted by a special announcement by Don Cheto, host of Los Angeles' No. 1 Spanish-language morning radio show "Don Cheto Al Aire (DCAA)." A cultural icon within the Latino community, Don Cheto recently recorded a tongue and cheek version of the team's code of conduct for fans to view as they enter SoFi Stadium. While the announcement will debut this week at the game, fans will have the opportunity to listen to the announcement each week both in English and Spanish.
The team will also recognize this year's Latino Heritage Award Winner, Ruby Flores, and Chargers' 2024 NFL Latino Youth Honors Nominees Paulina "Nicole" Cruz and Arturo Arguello during pregame and halftime. Earlier this year, Flores was named Deputy Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department, making her the first Latina to be appointed to the position. NFL Latino Youth Honors Nominee Cruz plays wide receiver and defensive end for the Calexico high school Girl's Flag Football Team. Now a senior, Cruz has used her heritage as a platform to shoot for new heights and reach her goals. Proud of his Latino and Salvadoran heritage, NFL Latino Youth Honors Nominee Arguello has found a passion for community outreach at a young age. Outside of taking his talents to the field as a linebacker, the Los Angeles high school junior supports organizations like El Rescate, a group that aids immigrants, primarily Latinos.
