Move Culver City Construction Proceeds on next Phase

Drivers can expect extended delays as construction begins on next phase of Move Culver City.

Signing, stripping and traffic signal modifications are underway on Culver Boulevard and will continue through the rest of the year, officials said.

As a part of MOVE Culver City, the city is making improvements to the Downtown and Arts District areas including:

Adding a protected bus lane on Culver Boulevard from Duquesne Ave to Canfield Ave and on Washington Blvd from Canfield Ave to Helms Ave;

Extending existing bus-bike lanes on Washington Boulevard from La Cienega Ave eastward to La Cienega Blvd;

Restoring a general-purpose travel lane on Culver Boulevard between Duquesne Ave and Canfield Ave and on Washington Blvd from Canfield Ave to Helms Ave;

Repaving Washington Boulevard between Ince and Robertson Boulevards;

Refreshing pavement markings and signage along the project corridor.

During construction, only one lane of traffic will be open in each direction and will be maintained at all times, the city said. Businesses in the area will remain open and will continue to provide services during normal business hours.

"The City is working to minimize dust, noise, and temporary lane closures throughout construction. However, some level of construction impacts are anticipated to occur," officials said.
