Rams face the Lions in the NFL Playoffs on Sunday

The Los Angeles Rams travel to Detroit to battle the Lions on Sunday at 5:15 p.m. in the first round of the NFL playoffs. The game will be televised on Channel 4. This may turn out to be the most intense first round games because the contest pits quarterbacks that were traded for each a few years ago.

Former Rams quarterback Jared Goff was traded for Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford because both teams wanted to up grade their quarterback position and as strange as it may seem both teams accomplished their goals. Goff has led his team to a 12-5 record and first place in the NFC North Division and Stafford has guided his team to 10-7 second finish in the NFC West Division.

Both teams come into the game playing at a high level. They both have high powered offenses and very good defenses. The Lions have better special teams and that may be the difference in the game.

On offense the Rams will rely on Stafford, running back Kyren Williams and receivers Cooper Kupp, rookie sensation Puka Nacua and Tutu Atwell. The Lions will counter with Goff, running backs Gibbs Jahmyr and David Montgomery and former USC star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

The defenses look even on paper so the game will probably come down to mistakes and turnovers. Both teams have surprised a lot of people so whatever happens it should be an exciting and entertaining game.
