The Culver City City Council voted unanimously Monday night to spend $6.5 million to purchase the Martin Rettig property at 11029 Washington Blvd.in Culver City.

Rettig announce last week his plans to close the gun store and retire.

Several who spoke at the Monday meeting had spoken at the previous meeting, expressed concern about having a gun dealer so close to La Ballona Elementary School.

A brief debate ensued about the future use of the property but Mayor Albert Vera said that issue would be taken up at a future council meeting.
