iPhone Stolen in Robbery-Suspect Nabed

On May 20th, at 1:10 am, Culver City Police Officers responded to a call of a robbery at the Arco station, located at 6300 Slauson Ave. The suspect, armed with a pair of scissors, robbed the victim of his iPhone, then proceeded to chase the victim on foot while demanding money from him. The suspect fled the area and was not located at this point.

At 7:50 am, the same suspect attempted to carjack a female victim in the parking lot of the Westfield Mall. The witness advised that the suspect was armed with a knife and was last seen on foot walking towards Forever 21. Officers arrived and detained the suspect who was positively identified by the victim.

The suspect was arrested and booked at CCPD without incident. During the booking process, the officers noticed that the suspect was wearing an ankle monitor. It was discovered that he was recently arrested and booked for robbery, then released, before he committed the above crimes.

The case is being presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing considerations.
