On Sunday, May 7th, community college trustees from across the state elected Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Trustee Andra Hoffman to serve as the 2023 – 2024 President of the Community College League of California Trustees (CCCT). As the newly elected CCCT Board President, Hoffman will serve as the voice for trustees across California's community colleges and will help guide the CCCT Board in taking positions on policy issues that come before the California Community Colleges Board of Governors and the California State Legislature.

"With Trustee Hoffman's leadership, CCCT will remain focused on its mission to increase college access and opportunity," said LACCD Chancellor Francisco Rodriguez. "She is a thought leader on addressing student basic needs and removing barriers so that students can achieve their educational and professional goals."

"On behalf of the LACCD Board of Trustees, we are thrilled with Trustee Hoffman's new leadership role," said Board of Trustees President David Vela. "Her leadership, dedication and commitment to all students will provide essential support and knowledge on how community colleges can help students to achieve their educational dreams."

"I am honored to have been elected by my peers to serve as the President of CCCT. Following the example of past presidents who have provided strong leadership for our organization, I will ensure that trustees are at the table on important issues," said LACCD Trustee and newly elected CCCT Board President Andra Hoffman. "Advancing our work around DEIA will expand learning environments and safeguard that all our students succeed in the classroom and beyond. I will continue to support trustees' involvement in achieving the Chancellor's Office Vision for Success Goals and I am committed to build strong and effective trusteeship to develop the policies needed for our students' success."

"We congratulate Trustee Hoffman on her newly elected role and her willingness to serve at both the local and statewide levels for the benefit of California Community College students and communities throughout the state," said Dr. Larry Galizio, President & CEO of the Community College League of California.

Before Hoffman's CCCT presidency, she served as LACCD Board President, and as a member of the CCCT Affordability, Food & Housing Access Taskforce since its creation in the spring of 2018. She also served as chair and founding member of the California Community Colleges Women's Caucus.
