Culver City Police officers on Morning Watch observed a vehicle run a red light while patrolling near the Westfield mall. The officers conducted a traffic stop and developed legal reason to search the driver and his vehicle. In the vehicle, the officers located a handgun and a loaded magazine. It was also learned the driver had a violent criminal history and was prohibited from owning or possessing any firearms. The driver was subsequently arrested for a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Another outstanding arrest by our Morning Watch officers in an effort to keep our community safe!
