ANTHONY DAVIS NAMED NBA WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE MONTH

EL SEGUNDO – Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis has been named NBA Western Conference Player of the Month for games played in March and April, it was announced today.

Davis averaged 26.2 points (.569 FG%), a league-leading 12.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.9 blocks in 35.5 minutes as the Lakers finished with a league-best 14-6 record through March and April. Davis scored in double figures in 17 of his 18 appearances, including 11 games with 20+ points, eight games with 30+ points and one 40-point performance. The eight-time NBA All-Star tallied 11 double-doubles in that span, including two games with 20+ rebounds.

For the 2022-23 regular season, Davis averaged 25.9 points (.563 FG%), 12.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.0 blocks in 34.0 minutes per game. He recorded a league-leading 20 games with at least 15 rebounds and led all players with seven games of 35+ points and 15+ rebounds. Davis became the first Lakers player since Shaquille O'Neal (2000-01) to average at least 25.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in a single season.

Davis earns his third career monthly award and his first such honor with Los Angeles.
