Formerly Homeless will kick off a National Campaign to end homelessness and racism in America.

Tuesday, February 21st 10:00am at Active Recycling Co. 2000 W. Slauson Ave Los Angeles, CA 90047

As new efforts are underway to address the homeless crisis in Los Angeles and neighboring Cities, a basic theme must be considered.

"Give a man a fish and he will eat today. Teach him to fish and he will eat forever."

One organization has established a track record of breaking the cycle.

Active Recycling Co Inc has embarked on a "Teaching a Man to Fish" program in addressing homelessness.

The majority of homeless in Los Angeles are men and women of color. For whatever reason, this cannot be ignored.

Since its inception, the program has succeeded in providing the opportunity to seven formerly homeless individuals of color with good paying jobs, quality benefits, restoring dignity and the ability to be self-supporting, not at taxpayer's expense.

The program is based on the basic idea of respect.

"PEOPLE OF COLOR MAKE UP THE WORLD POPULATION, WE ARE ALL THE SAME COLOR ON THE INSIDE. LET'S RESPECT EACH OTHER. ®"

Focusing on our similarities while providing the opportunity to succeed.

These formerly homeless individuals will address the conditions which lead to homelessness and their rise to self-sustaining members of society.
