Make time to enjoy some Baroque music in Beverly Hills, master performances of the viola on the 28th

The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), one of the country's finest chamber orchestras, is making a special appearance at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills on January 28 at 7:30pm and on January 29 at The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens' Rothenberg Hall.

Bram Goldsmith Theater will be the setting for LACO's performance titled Baroque Concerti.

Audience members can expect an evening of virtuosic chamber performances, featuring soloists Yura Lee, a rare master of both the violin and viola, in one of the earliest known Viola Concertos, Telemann's Concerto in G Major, and LACO artist David Washburn performing a hidden gem: the charming pre-classical Concerto for Trumpet in E-flat Major, by little-known Czech composer Johan Baptist Georg Neruda.

The program also features Corelli's rich and festive Concerto Grosso, Opus 6, No. 4; Geminiani's lovely Concerto Grosso in D Major; and Handel's grand Concerto Grosso in A Major, Opus 6, No. 11, one of the most celebrated works for strings from the Baroque era.

You can also join moderator Brian Lauritzen of popular Classical California KUSC and some LACO artists at 6:30pm for a PRELUDES @ THE WALLIS pre-concert conversation.

LACO - founded in 1968 by music director Sir Neville Mariner and cellist James Arkatov as an artistic channel for film and recording studios' most gifted musicians - has made 31 recordings, toured Europe, South America and Japan, performed across North America, and garnered eight ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming.

You will be in for a real treat.
