The Culver City Arts Foundation (Culver Arts), which supports the arts in Culver City through its mission to preserve the past, enrich the present and create the future of arts and culture in the community, is thrilled to announce the recipients of $50,000 in grants in our effort to support local nonprofit art organizations. This year for #GivingTuesday, instead of asking for donations for our own nonprofit organization, Culver Arts gave back to the arts community…because art changes everything!

Through the support of our donors and community partners, we were able to increase our donations from

$20,000 given in our first and second round combined to local artists, to $50,000 for our final round for art organizations! The grants range in amounts of $1,000 to $5,000 and are designed to support general operating funds, especially after the last few years of economic hardship. These awardees are creative organizations that provide programs, resources, and opportunities for the local community that are the heart of Culver City.

First Round Resiliency Fund grant recipient, artist Annie Brown had this to say: “With the support that the Culver Arts Foundation Resiliency Fund Grant gave me in 2021, I was able to easily pay my rent and apply that extra time and attention to expanding my small business in ways I previously didn't have the time or financial stability to do. A few months later, I released four new products and became an artist-in-residence at These Hands Maker's Collective, a local workshop space and arts collective. During my April - December residency, I have been teaching workshops three times a month and creating my art in a beautiful, welcoming space. It's an

In the next grant cycle, Culver Arts will be able to provide funds through its Creative Arts Spotlight Grants, which are expected to launch early 2023. The Creative Arts Spotlight Grants, which are modeled on the successful Culver City Performing Arts Grants funded by the City and Culver Arts, will provide programmatic support to artists and organizations working in the literary arts, visual arts, digital arts, filmmaking, and other disciplines ineligible for the performing arts grants.
