A Culver City police officer recently used Naloxone to revive an unconscious woman "who was possibly overdosed on drugs" in a local clothing store, authorities reported.

Over the past weekend, the officer responded to a call about an unconscious woman who was not breathing victim inside TJ Maxx, located in the 11000 block of Jefferson Blvd., Culver City Police Department said in a Facebook post.

At the scene, the officer saw "a good Samaritan performing CPR on the subject," police said.

The officer quickly retrieved and administered Naloxone, also known as Narcan, to the victim. Narcan is an opioid overdose treatment.

"Shortly after the Narcan deployment, the subject began to breathe on her own," CCPD said.

Culver City fire fighters arrived at the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for further medical treatment, police said.

"Excellent work by our officer who recognized the signs of an overdose and administered Narcan in time, a true lifesaving effort," CCPD added.
