California Senate Bill 9 will be a topic at the next City Council meeting.
At its Oct. 24 session, the Council will discuss and provide direction to staff regarding the application of SB 9 in the Culver Crest.
According to city officials, SB 9 provides for an administrative (ministerial) process, without discretionary review or a public hearing, to approve a two-unit, residential developments as well as split parcel maps meeting certain criteria on lots in single-family residential zones
This bill would also exempt the approval of projects subject to those processes from California Environmental Quality Act, according to state officials.
