Time to take a stroll down Abbey Road and to Imagine the 70s again

September 29, 2022

Keith Putney Productions presents "Abbey Road" in Concert & The Beatles Solo: 1970-1971 as the next in the series of live concerts at the Grammy Museum celebrating the Beatles, performed by an all-star cast for two shows on October 9.

The concert will be celebrating the 82nd anniversary of the birth of John Lennon and the albums 53rd anniversary.

Abbey Road was the final Beatles album to be recorded and its iconic status is unchallenged. It has sold over 13 million copies in the United States and 31 million worldwide, and spent 11 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart in an album chart run of 129 weeks.

"Come Together" to the unforgettable harmonies of "Because," the heartfelt balladry of "Something" to the lust and longing of "I Want You," Abbey Road entered the spring morning in "Here Comes the Sun" and stayed with us to become part of our collective memory.

Given that Abbey Road was the last album to be recorded by the Beatles, it was the springboard that launched solo careers for the four fabulous lads.

To complete the program, the band will celebrate the Beatles individual efforts in 1970 and 1971 with gems like "Instant Karma," "Maybe I'm Amazed," "It Don't Come Easy," "Imagine," "My Sweet Lord," and more.

The musical flame that brought light to the world in the form of the Beatles continued to shine in the early 1970's, and the band will explore that light and salute Lennon's birthday.

There will be a special appearance by former lead singer of the Buckinghams, Dennis Tufano, who will perform big hits like "Kind of A Drag," and "Don't You Care." And Ron "Sugar, Sugar" Dante of The Archies will also be on stage.

The cast of all-star musicians also include: Bernard Fowler (Rolling Stones), legendary lead guitarist Laurence Juber (Paul McCartney & Wings), Robert Berry (Of "3" - trio that also included Kieth Emerson and Carl Palmer), Marc Mann (guitarist from The Concert for George), Christopher Allis (drummer from Mike Nesmith's first national band), Cara Lee, and Musical Director Jeff Alan Ross (Badfinger, Peter Asher) on vocals, keyboards and guitar.
