Hot Prowl Robbery Suspect Nabbed After Victim Shares His Picture with CCPD

The suspect was caught on surveillance video snooping around the residence, before the owner walked in and interrupted

Culver City police recently arrested a man in connection with a hot prowl burglary soon after the victim took of a picture of him and shared it with local authorities.

The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on August 2 in the 8700 Block of Washington Blvd., according to the Culver City Police Department.

The victim told police that he returned to his apartment and found the suspect inside standing next to an opened drawer that contained multiple watches.

Asked what he was doing, the suspect replied that the apartment belonged to an old friend and then exited the unit, police said in a Facebook post. The victim took a photo of the suspect and called CCPD.

Police officers checked the area and found the suspect on the platform of the Ivy Metro Station while he was waiting to board the train. "The suspect was detained without incident and the victim positively identified him as the person that was in his apartment," CCPD said.


The suspect was transported to the local jail and booked on burglary charges.
