Young football team looks good during summer passing leagues

Culver City high school varsity football team has shown promise this summer after playing in two passing league tournaments. They will play their third and final tournament this weekend when they travel to Crescenta Valley high school and participate in their passing league tournament.

In their first tournament at El Rancho high school the Centaurs posted a strong 6-1 record, losing in the final game to La Serna. Culver City hosted its own tournament last weekend but the failed to make it to the finals. The two teams in the finals were Oxnard and Loyola. Oxnard won the championship game.

“The team has been working hard this summer and we will be young this season, but we have some talented players,” said head coach Jahmal Wright. “The offensive and defensive lines will be our strong suit, followed by a talented group of skilled players.”
