A parolee who allegedly robbed a Culver City store at gunpoint was arrested this week after leaving his car keys at the crime scene, police said.

The take-over armed robbery occurred about 2:20 p.m. on July 10 at Boost Mobile, in the 4100 block of Centinela Avenue, according to the Culver City Police Department.

Witnesses told police a suspect in a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, a white mask, and blue surgical globes came into the store and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at two Boost Mobile employees and ordered them to lay face down, police said.

He then grabbed about $500 from the cash register and fled the scene.

"Officers reviewed the video surveillance footage of the robbery and noticed that the suspect had dropped a set of car keys," police said. "They conducted an area check and located a possible suspect vehicle, which was parked one block away."

Police officers saw clothing worn by the suspect in the rear seat, and tracked him down as they searched the area. He was arrested without incident on July 11.

The suspect was identified as Lawrence Bell, a 37-year-old resident of Torrance. He was on parole for robbery and was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the crime, CCPD said.

Bell was booked on suspicion of armed robbery and his case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration, police said.
