2 Culver City Businesses Robbed at Gunpoint in 2 Days

 

Two Culver City businesses, located less than a mile apart, were robbed at gunpoint over last weekend, local police said.

The first robbery occurred about 9:25 a.m. on July 8 at Subway, located at 3817 Sepulveda Blvd., according to Culver City Police Department. The victim told police a man entered the shop, ordered a sandwich, then pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the register.

“Fearing for her life, the victim complied and filled the suspect’s bag with $200-300,” police said in a press release. “The suspect then exited the store and ran northbound on Sepulveda Blvd.”

Police conducted an area search but did not find the suspect who is described as black man of medium build, last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and black ski mask, according to the CCPD.


The second robbery occurred around 6 a.m. on July 9 at Rite Aid at 3802 Culver Center, police said. In this robbery, a man approached the register, pulled out a handgun and demanded cash from the register, police said.

After stealing the money, the man then fled north toward Venice Boulevard, police said. The suspect is described as a black man with heavy build, last seen wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a black hat.

Police have not yet confirmed if the robberies were committed by the same suspect.
