My Mom picked me up from school and she said she had some news for me and before she ever told me I was excited. Then she said, "We are going to the White House to report on the Easter Egg Roll for KidScoop Media." I got SUPER EXCITED and yelped, "Ahhhhh yes, Yay!! We were leaving the next day so we had to pack and plan our hotel and our plane tickets. I was a little scared because I had never been to Washington, D.C. I had never taken a subway but in D.C I took my first subway and I really liked it.

My first day there I went to the American History Museum and I got to see the First Ladies dresses and Dorothy's red slippers from the Wizard of Oz. After that I went to Lincoln Memorial and I was excited to see it in person. The weather was sunny but also a little cold.

The day we went to the White House Easter Egg Roll I had to wake up at 5AM in the morning. I took the subway to meet Michelle from KidScoop Media and James, our cameraman at Peet's Coffee. I got chocolate milk and a few snacks to take with me. We walked over to the White House and waited in line at the guard house to get through security. We even had to put our umbrella's through the x-ray machine. A lot of press were there. Suddenly, a woman from the First Lady's Office appeared and said, "Follow me." We walked behind her and she took us where we needed to go. We waited in the Press Briefing Room until it was time to go to the South Lawn. Once it was time to go to our press area outside, we passed the infamous Rose Garden but we saw no roses, only tulips. I was out there for a long time waiting for the President to come outside but I was FREEZING!!! A nice man told me I could go inside to the Press Briefing Room to warm up until the Egg Roll festivities started.

I finally got to see the President, First Lady and the Easter Bunny on the balcony. They welcomed the crowd to the White House. I couldn't believe it. Moments later, I saw the President walking by the presarea and everyone wanted to ask a question but he only stopped and spoke only to me. He asked me how old I was and if I liked working this hard in the cold and he held my right glove. After that, all the press asked me what he said to me. I told them. Moments later. I saw my favorite actress Sofia Carson and asked her, "What is your favorite between singing, dancing and acting?" She said, all three. Aah, she was everything I thought she would be. She was wearing a pretty white fluffy coat. Sofia brought her sister so I really liked seeing her too. I admit I was very nervous talking to her but I'm glad I did it. Soon after, I met Jimmy Fallon and asked him about his favorite candy and he said, Sour Patch kids just like me!!!!! I also got to talk to the Press Secretary Jen Psaki at the podium and asked her the same candy question and then she asked me the same question. I later met Kaitlin Collins who is the CNN's Chief White House Correspondent and her favorite candy is Sour Patch Kids too!!! She was super nice!!!!

My day at the White House was super fun and everyone was so nice. I felt really special that I was the only one the President spoke to. I can't wait to be a KidScoop Media reporter again. I loved meeting so many interesting people. I will never ever forget this day. Thank you KidScoop Media!!
