Underground Explosion Forces Closure of Sepulveda Blvd.

A section of Sepulveda Boulevard was closed to traffic last Monday following reports of an underground explosion.

The Culver City Police Department this week said there was an underground electrical vault explosion near Sepulveda Boulevard and Slauson Avenue, but no injuries were reported.

The explosion caused damage to the road, police said. Eastbound Slauson Avenue, from Sepulveda Boulevard, was shut down for several hours as Southern California Edison investigated the explosion and repaired any damage, police said.

There was no damage to nearby buildings reported.
