CCEF Gala Raises over $175K
May 19, 2022
The Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF) is proud to announce the Ruby Gala surpassed its goal of raising $175,000 for the programs we fund across the district!
Thank you to the two hundred community members and CCUSD families who attended as CCEF culminated its milestone anniversary celebration - it's because of each of you that our foundation has been able to sustain dynamic arts and STEM programming at Culver City schools for 40 years. Guests enjoyed plentiful food and beverages from local restaurants, and inspiring student performances. Middle school students shared a song from their spring musical production of “Matilda,” and the CCHS Academy of Visual & Performing Arts (AVPA) presented a moving duo featuring a music and dance student.
A big highlight from the night was a special announcement from our Presenting Sponsor, Amazon Studios, that they would make an additional $40,000 gift that night - this inspired one hundred others to make a gift during the event and helped us reach our fundraising goal!
Our deep gratitude to all of the event sponsors, partners, and volunteers for making this memorable evening a success. Special thanks to our event committee and our guest emcees, Howard Behnken and Brian Vabulas, for their invaluable contributions!
Be sure to check out the photos from the Ruby Gala below and tag yourselves in our Facebook album. We're also excited to share the video that made its debut at the event, highlighting the many programs you make possible by donating to CCEF. We hope that everyone, even those who could not attend, feels inspired to build the yellow brick
road into the next 40 years of education. There's still time to donate to the future of Culver City schools, and stay connected for years to come You ca donate online at: https://secure.givelively.org/donate/culver-city-education-foundation/the-ruby-gala-leading-the-way-to-the-next-40-years
Your paper covers numerous sports, fundraisers, etc for CCUSD but only once have I seen any coverage for CCHS valedictorian and salutatorians -- many of whom have been young women! Could you consider making it a regular feature?
