Listen to some heavenly music like "Bad Girls," and "Hot Stuff" of the iconic Donna Summer

Broadway is back at the Fred Kavli Theatre in Thousand Oaks as American Theatre Guild presents “Summer: The Donna Summer Musical,” May 12 to the 15th.

Although she passed away ten years ago, her spirit continues to shine through this production based on her illustrious life.

The musical made its premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse in November 2017 and opened on Broadway April 2018, and is now on its second national tour.

She was a girl from Boston with a voice from heaven, who shot through the stars from gospel choir to dance floor diva. But what the world didn’t know was how Summer risked it all to break through barriers, becoming the icon of an era and the inspiration for every music diva who followed.

With a score featuring more than 20 of her classic hits, including “Love to Love You Baby,” “Bad Girls,” and “Hot Stuff,” this electric experience is a moving tribute to the voice of a generation.

The musical highlights Summer at three stages of her life. Duckling Donna (Amahri Edward-Jones) in her pre-teens, starting out in Boston; Disco Donna (Charis Gullage), in her late teens and 20s, has her initial success; and Diva Donna (Brittny Smith) is in her 50s and at the top of her career.
