School District to Present Concert in Solidarity with Ukraine May 1

The Robert Frost Auditorium will be the site for a School District concert to benefit victims of the war in Ukraine.

The Culver City Unified School District will present a benefit Concert in Solidarity with Ukraine

next Sunday, May 1, at 6:30 p.m. at Robert Frost Auditorium, 4401 Elenda St.

Tickets are free; a minimum $25 charitable contribution is suggested.

In coordination with Culver City Artist Laureate Alexey Steele, the concert will celebrate Ukrainian music, poetry, and art. The event will feature prominent Ukrainian artists, guests, and classical Ukrainian, Russian and Polish composers.

Donations will be collected during the concert with a goal of raising funds for direct relief to provide critical healthcare for victims of the War in Ukraine.

The event partners include Jacaranda Music, The Wende Museum, Culver City Forward and

\Classical Underground.

Featured Compositions and Performances: Patrick Scott, Jacaranda's Artistic Director; Valentin Silvestrov and Jan Freidlin; Miroslav Skoryk; Reinhold Gliere; Sergei Prokofiev; Dmitri Shostakovich; Henryk Gorecki; concert pianists Inna Faliks and Steven Vanhauwaert; cellist Antonio Lysy; violinist; Myroslava Khomik; Lyris Quartet and Jacaranda's String Ensemble.
