The Board of the Culver City Chamber of Commerce has accepted Chamber President & CEO Colin Diaz's

resignation following his announced relocation to Tempe, Arizona.

During the search, long-time chamber member and board member David Voncannon has been selected to fill the role of Interim Director, and he will lead the organization in collaboration with a selected team of board advisors until the permanent CEO is on board. David holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Duke University. He has previously served as Chair of the Culver City Planning Commission and has served in numerous other community leadership positions. Additionally, Voncannon brings his senior management experience from the technology industry as well as extensive non-profit board experience to his new role.

Diaz joined the Culver City Chamber of Commerce in 2017 from the Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce, and his chamber experience allowed him to step into the large shoes left by then-retiring President & CEO Steve Rose. During his tenure, Diaz helped grow new programs including the Women in Business Council, the annual Economic Summit program, and Leadership Culver City. During the pandemic, Diaz worked with Culver City leaders to form FeedCulver and his leadership on committees like the Economic Recovery Task Force was instrumental in sharing the recovery needs of the business community with city, county and state leaders.

Diaz's last day with the Culver City Chamber was March 31.

"We all wish him the best as the new CEO of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce," said Chamber Chair Maria Jacobo, who added that the chamber has already begun the search for Colin's replacement. "We intend to conduct a thorough search to find the right leader to take our organization into the future."

The chamber board of directors has formed a search committee led by Jacobo and joined by a team of seven current and seasoned past board and executive committee members.

"Holding down the fort will be a team effort, and I know that our Board will do an outstanding job in keeping the chamber moving forward as we work to find our new CEO," Voncannon said.
