Culver City Track and Field teams continue to dominate competition

Culver city's varsity Distance Medley Relay Team finished second last Saturday at the Mustang Relays at Mira Costa high school. Culver City is known for having outstanding sprinters, now the Centaurs are impressive in the distance races. This second place finish puts Culver City on the longer distance map. The runners from left to right are Andre Saldanha, Aziz Ballesteros, Eric Smith and Joaquin Bell-Andrade.
The four Culver City High School track and field teams continue to prove that they are some of the best in Southern California. In the dual meets, the tri meets and the prestigious invitational meets, the Centaur frosh/soph boys and girls and the varsity boys and girls are turning in some impressive performances every week.

On Saturday, April 9, some of the varsity girls and boys will running in one of the top track and field meets in the nation, the Arcadia Invitational. On Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16 all four teams will be competing in the South Bay Championships at West Torrance high school and on Wednesday, April 20, all four of the Centaur teams will run and jump in a dual meet against Mira Costa.
The 2022 teams are one of the largest groups of runners and jumpers in Culver City history. Every time you look up there is a Culver City runner are jumper competing in every event. The head boys coach, Jahmal Wright, and the head girls coach, Rayfield Beaton, are putting together something special.
