Lisa Soghor has been appointed to the position of Culver City Chief Financial Officer, city officials announced this week. She assumes the new post following the promotion of Onyx Jones to Assistant City Manager.

"I'm excited to join the City of Culver City staff and serve our diverse community," said Soghor. "I hope to continue to expand the Finance Department's tradition of financial excellence and transparency."

Lisa, a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of public service experience, recently served as Assistant City Manager for the City of Malibu. During her tenure in Malibu, Soghor assisted in the growth of that city's General Fund reserves from $20 million to $39 million; coordinated $25 million in debt issuance; aided in the city's $42 million, 29-acre land acquisition; and helped maintain the City's AA+/AAA investment bond rating, city officials said in a statement.

Under her leadership for the past five years, the City of Malibu has consistently received the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for Malibu's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, officials said.

Prior to working for Malibu, Soghor served as Deputy Executive Officer and Chief of Developed Resources for the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority since 1995. Lisa oversaw numerous capital improvement projects throughout the region, including the Santa Monica Mountains Anthony C. Beilenson Visitor Center, Vista Hermosa Natural Park and the Los Angeles River Greenway.

A Los Angeles native, Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. She has an extensive background in senior management, administration, finance, human resources, capital projects, facility management and environmental issues.
