The Culver Boulevard project will expand outdoor dining.

Culver City has started construction on Culver Boulevard between Duquesne Avenue and Canfield Avenue to expand the outdoor dining program. The work will be completed by the end of March 2022.

This project, approved by the City Council last month, consists of removing planter areas and replacing planters with brick paving to expand sidewalk outdoor dining along the north side of Culver Boulevard.

Construction will result in loss of temporary outdoor dining spaces, a brief loss of driveway access to property along the route, and construction noise, dust, etc. even though every effort will be made by the city and the contractor to minimize these inconveniences, said city officials.

Work hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a break from loud construction noise and debris during lunch time between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The construction sequencing calls for working two-blocks at a time, said officials.

In a statement, the city urges motorists to observe all traffic controls, parking restrictions, and traffic control workers.

Direct all inquiries or concerns to either the City's Project/Construction Manager or the Construction Inspector.
