Eckhaus continues to shine at the next level

Former Culver City High School's All-State quarterback is having a great season at Bryant University. This week he was named to Stats Perform FCS Jerry Rice watch list as one of the best freshman football players in the nation. In eight games this season he has thrown for 1605 yards and 13 touchdowns with only two interceptions.

LAFC's goalie Jamal Blackman comes out of the box to stop a late-game breakaway by Whitecap's forward Deiber Caicedo last Tuesday at Banc of California Stadium.

The LAFC soccer team is 12-12 with nine ties. They are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference and their last game of the regular season is Sunday against Colorado on the road. They must win that game and hope other teams lose if they expect to make the playoffs. The Galaxy is currently in seventh place in the conference.

USC's women volleyball team is 10-11 overall and 6-6 in Pac-12 play. They start their four-game road trip on Friday against Colorado. Colorado is 13-4 overall and 4-8 in the Pac-12. On Sunday they face 16th ranked Utah. Utah is 15-6 and 8-4 in the Pac-12.

The USC football team will be on the road on Saturday when they battle the Arizona State Sun Devils at 7:30 p.m. The Trojans are 4-4 overall and 3-3 in the Pac-12. The USC men's basketball team will open their season at home on Tuesday, November 9, at 6 p.m. against Cal State Northridge.

The UCLA men's basketball team will play their second game of the season on Tuesday at home at 8 p.m. against Cal State Bakersfield and on Friday, November 12, they have another home game against national power Villanova at 8:30 p.m.
