Culver City girls' volleyball back in the playoff

Culver City senior girls' volleyball player Kylie Owens spikes a winner cross-court. Owens is the daughter of former NFL star Terrell Owens.

Culver City high school's girls' varsity volleyball team is back in the playoffs for

the 10 th straight year after not played in 2020 because of the pandemic. They

made it to the CIF Southern Section playoffs as an at-large team after finishing

fourth in the tough Bay league behind Mira Costa, Redondo Union and Palos

Verdes. The Centaurs finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-10

and a Bay league record of 3-6.

Coached by Tanner Siegal, the Centaurs will once again face the Upland

Highlanders when they travel to face the 34 th ranked team in the state on

Thursday, October 21, at 6 p.m. This will be a rematch of their 2019 meeting

when Culver City won a thrilling 5-set match, winning the fifth set 16-14.
