Eric Schwartz, the "Master of Funnies," is a popular standup comedian who touts himself as being one-quarter Mexican because of his mother's remarriage, when he was young, to a successful Mexican jazz musician who helped raise and influence him. His appearances include the Tonight show, Showtime, Comics Unleashed, and BET, and his refreshing cross-cultural (Anglo y Latino) bilingual humor makes him an ideal host when folks of different cultural backgrounds get together to have an enjoyable time.
Since its founding in 1981, the critically acclaimed Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez, which is well-recognized for having performed in some of the most prestigious concert arenas around the world, has been nominated for nine Grammy Awards. Its bandleader, Jose Hernandez, an internationally recognized musician, composer and educator, has recorded with Selena, Vicente Fernandez, Luis Miguel, Bryan Adams, and the Beach Boys.
A comedian, actor, and writer, Jesus Trejo is one of the hottest young standup talents on the comedy scene today. Born in Long Beach, CA to parents who migrated from Mexico to the US (father was a gardener and mother was a maid), he graduated from Cal State Dominguez Hills, has worked as a valet car parker at The Comedy Store, starred in a recent Showtime special ("Stay At Home Son"), and had recurring roles in a number of television series including "Mr. Iglesias" with fellow standup performer Gabriel Iglesia
Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles, an all-female ensemble under the musical direction of Jose Hernandez, is well-renowned on both sides of the US/Mexico border for its accurate and polished presentations of traditional mariachi music as the songs were originally written to be performed. Founded in 1994, the Grammy-nominated ensemble has had enormous impact as a groundbreaker and role model for women in music.
