Culver City to Hold 911 Remembrance

Saturday on the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the Culver City Police and Fire Departments will hold a remembrance ceremony at Culver City Fire Station 1 (9600 Culver Blvd.) to honor the men, women, children, and first responders who lost their lives. Join us as we remember them on Saturday, September 11.

Here is the schedule of the mornings event:

6:55 a.m. Crews assemble in front of the flag.

6:59 a.m. Time of the South Tower collapse.

7:00 a.m. One minute of complete silence.

7:01 a.m. Flag lowered to half-staff. Bugle plays.

7:03 a.m. Ceremony concludes.

Of those who were killed that day 343 were FDNY Firefighters and 71 were law enforcement officers. In the pat 20 years, that number has grown significantly from Ground Zero exposures and the months of working "The Pile."

The ceremony will be held entirely outdoors and will follow the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health's COVID-19 protocols and recommendations. Learn more:
