Motorist arrested on DUI charges

 


A man was hit and killed by a vehicle while walking on Sepulveda Boulevard in Culver City early Monday morning, local police said.

The crash occurred July 12 at 1:10 a.m. on Sepulveda south of Venice Boulevard and the motorist was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, Culver City Police Department said in a statement.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident and his name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives, police said.

“After a field investigation, the officers determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and subsequently placed the driver under arrest for VC 23153(a), felony driving while under the influence,” police said.

This case will be presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration, police added. The motorist's name was not released.
