School Board Reviews Deadlines for New Superintendent Search

The CCUSD Board of Education met with the recruiting firm, Ray and Associates, last week to review deadlines related to the superintendent search.
Board President Tashon McKeithan said the search firm will begin vetting candidates on July 6 and will present the top contenders to the Board on July 19.
The Board will meet in the first week in July to discuss the format of the first-round and second- round interviews, set to begin at the end of July, McKeithan said.
On April 13, current Supt. Leslie Lockhart announced that she was retiring from the district after 23 years and leaving from her post on June 30.
However, McKeithan said, Lockhart has "agreed to stay on to support operations until the end of July or until a new superintendent is named."
