School Board Discusses Superintendent Search Timeline, Community Survey

The CCUSD Board of Education met with the superintendent search firm, Ray and Associates, last week to discuss the initial framing of the search.

The Board and the search firm also discussed the online survey that would be sent to all stakeholders to gather information about the qualities they would like to see in a new superintendent. This survey will go public in the next few days in English, Spanish, and Japanese.

A link to the survey can be found here: In English, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5P2KZL3; in Spanish, https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/V7TCCF2; in Japanese,

Board President Tashon McKeithan said that meetings with constituents and stakeholders are expected to be scheduled for June 7 and June 8. More information on these meetings will be posted on the district website.

The firm and the Board also began working collaboratively to develop a promotional flyer for the job. McKeithan said the Board reviewed the online application and approved advertisements on a variety of platforms to ensure a diverse candidate pool.

McKeithan said the tentative timeline of the search includes interviews with the finalists in July, with the hiring of a new superintendent in August.

On April 13, current Supt. Leslie Lockhart announced that she was retiring from the district after 23 years and leaving from her post on June 30. She will serve as superintendent emeritus until Dec. 31.
