A community tip has led to the arrest of a 24-year-old man who allegedly pulled a knife on a donut shop employee in Culver City, local police said.

On February 24, at approximately 5:03 a.m., Culver City Police Department received a call about an assault with a deadly weapon at the donut shot located at 13300 Washington Boulevard. “After the suspect caused a disturbance in the business, a store employee asked him to leave,” police said in a press release. “The suspect then pulled a knife on the employee and threatened to ‘cut him into pieces.” The suspect fled just before responding officers arrived at the scene.

On March 1, in an effort to develop investigative leads and solve this crime, CCPD posted on its website and social media platforms a “Community Crime Bulletin” video depicting this incident. After a little more than a week, local police detectives received several community tips that assisted in identifying the suspect. On March 15, the suspect was found and placed under arrest on charges of assault with a deadly weapon. Police officials said the suspect is also suspected of committing two additional assaults with a deadly weapon in the city of Los Angeles.

This case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration, CCPD said.
