Culver City police have arrested both suspects in two armed robberies at 7-Eleven while they were trying to rob a third 7-Eleven on Sunday morning.

According to the Culver City Police Department, two separate armed robberies occurred 4:50 at 4436 Sepulveda Blvd. and 5:05 a.m. at 11001 Washington Blvd.

During both robberies, two male subjects armed with a handgun and rifle entered the stores and held the clerks at gunpoint while stealing money and other items, CCPD said in a press release. The suspects then fled the scene prior to officers' arrival.

After the second robbery, police officers checked nearby 7-Eleven locations and witnessed two men holding the store clerk at gunpoint at the 7-Eleven located at 10356 Venice Blvd., which is in LAPD jurisdiction, Culver City police said.

Upon seeing the officers, police said, the suspects fled to the rear of the store, while the clerk safely fled through the front doors.

"Culver City Officers established a perimeter containing the suspects within the store and called LAPD," police said. "LAPD Officers arrived, assumed responsibility of the scene, and ultimately took both suspects into custody without incident."

Both suspects, whose names have not yet been released, were positively identified and arrested for the robberies, CCPD said.
