California Governor Gavin Newsom declared special election for the 54th Assembly District of the State of California on July 20 to fill the seat vacated by Sydney Kamlager when she was elected to the State Senate for the 30th district. The primary for the special election will be held on May 18, 2021. July 20, 202. The primary for the special election will be held on May 18. Should no candidate receive over 50 percent of the vote, the top 2 candidates will square off in the July runoff.
