Culver City Observer -

CCHS Booster Club to host Fundraising Event

March 11, 2021

The past twelve months have been a challenge for everyone, including the student athletes

at Culver City High School and the organization that supports them, the Booster Club.

Centaur teams left the field of play in March 2020 and the wildly popular Casino Night event

was canceled as well.

Fast forward to today with the Corona virus situation improving, Centaur student athletes

have begun training and games are on the schedule.  How can you support them now you

ask?  You can join the Booster Club for the coolest socially-distanced community event of

the year, Beer & Bingo 2021!  Athletic Director Tom Salter offered, "The student athletes

have had to adapt to change this year and so has the Booster Club.  We're super excited to

be bringing this new virtual event to the community.  It will be a blast and it's all in support of

our students."

The Booster Club will be hosting a virtual Beer & Bingo fundraising event on April 17, 2021

at 7:00 PM.  Tickets include a Beer Tasting for two.   In the comfort of your home, you'll

taste four different styles of beer from Los Angeles Ale Works, which is coming soon to the

Ivy Station in Downtown Culver City.  The Brewmaster will lead partygoers through the

different tastings.  Local beverage pickup the week of April 10.

The event will also feature live Bingo games, with fantastic prizes, called by CCHS coaches

and prominent supporters.  Interviews with southland sports celebrities are also part of the

package.  Of particular interest to all Culver citizens, we'll hear from Ryan Sherriff, 2020

World Series pitcher and CCHS class of 2008.  You'll also meet Sam "Bam" Cunningham,

of USC and NFL fame.  Booster Club President, Dave Stewart, added, "I can't wait for

everyone to meet Ryan virtually, and hear his story of struggle, injury, hard work, and

eventual success.  Sam played a vital role in perhaps the most significant college football

game of the 20th century and the theme of racial equity still reverberates to this day"

A Silent Auction with dozens of amazing items will be available from gift cards to vacation

packages.  Auction opens April 10.  Tickets are $50 and include beer tasting for two and

one bingo card good for 4 games.  Additional bingo cards available at $5 each.

Tickets available now at cchsboosterclub.com.
