Police found a possibly homeless man who died over the weekend. They did not release the cause of death, but every year Santa Monica police do find several bodies of homeless people in public spaces.

The man was described as a white male, and was found on Saturday, January 23, 2021 around 3:20 pm. SMPD Lt. Rudy Flores said that officers were called to the Gazebo in Crescent Bay public park, on reports of an unresponsive man. They administered CPR to no avail, and declared the man dead on scene. There were no indications of foul play, they said.

The LA County Coroner took possession of the man’s body. They would ordinarily conduct an autopsy, and defer releasing his identity pending notification to next of kin.
