New Estimates Reveal 1 in 3 County Residents Infected with Covid-19

New estimates by county scientists show that 1 in 3 Los Angeles County residents have been infected with the coronavirus.

The estimates reveal how rapidly the virus is the county which has recorded more than 13,000 Covid-19 deaths in the past 10 months.

Backed by scientific modeling, county officials believe that 3 million of the County's 10 million residents have been infected with coronavirus, which represents more than three times the number of confirmed coronavirus cases.

County officials have always believed that testing only captures a certain percentage of the infected because many don't show symptoms of the virus or suffer only mild symptoms.
