The Culver City Sister City Committee invites the public to its annual picnic, a Fiesta in the Park, on Sunday, September 9, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Veterans Park picnic area. Cost is $15 per person ($10 for 16 and under); Mexican taco bowls (beef, chicken and vegetarian), beverages and desserts will be provided.

If you would like to participate in our Sister Cities Dessert Contest, please bring a dessert or fruit display that represents one of our sister cities in Mexico, Japan, Korea, Canada or Italy. A prize will be awarded for the most creative dessert.

A highlight of the CCSCC’s annual picnic is the presentation by the students who participated in our exchanges with Kaizuka, Japan and Iksan, South Korea. The delegates who went to Kaizuka this year will share their experiences in the Japanese culture and the youths who hosted students from Iksan will tell us what they did during the visit to Culver City by their Korean brothers and sisters. The friendships that have been formed over the years from these student exchanges are what the Sister Cities International program is all about.
