The Oceana Hotel is on Ocean Avenue just south of Montana Avenue. A repurposed apartment building, Oceana Hotel has rooms that start at $1000 a night. It is about half occupied longer term, with the very wealthy. And now it is under new management.

"LXR Hotels & Resorts, Hilton's collection of independent, luxury properties, today announced its U.S. debut with the addition of the recently redesigned Oceana hotel, an intimate 70-room coastal oasis situated along the coveted beach district of Santa Monica. The property is owned and operated by JRK Property Holdings, Inc."

Covid has of course cut down on travel. But many wealthy foreigners have found themselves stranded in LA, with flights to the UK and parts of the Middle East hard to find.
