Local residents are reporting shortages of toilet paper and cleaning supplies once again at local markets.

Such shortages were common in April after the original lockdown began. The shortage appears to be affecting big box stores like Costco more. We found cleaning supplies and toilet paper at a local Vons.

"At Costco, people were taking more than one big package, and at the register they were telling them they weren't allowed to, they're only allowed to buy one big package of toilet paper," said Maria Garcia from West LA.

The reasons for the shortages weren't entirely clear. Stores aren't reporting any problems with manufacturing and distribution, but say demand for the products is mysteriously higher.

“People feel insecure about the situation. At least they an control their supplies,” said Hunter Ganser.
